Popular films are the major transmitter of cultural messages in our times. They have examples of good and bad behavior. They supply a host of metaphors. In dramas big screen characters face dilemmas many of us face. In comedy we can poke fun and laugh with situations at which we might otherwise cry.
Movies Teach PM currently offers two one-day classes (8 PDU's each) in which we discuss substantive project management issues with the aid of short clips from popular films. Careful and prepared viewing of clips offers vital metaphors for communication, leadership, group dynamics and team building. We connect these metaphors to theories and best practices that offer the possibility of learning and change.
Participants can earn an additional 5 PDU's by watching four films from an approved list, filling out a learning form on each on, then writing an essay that validates how what they learned from the films can be applied to their real life.
