Roger Kent, PMP

Roger Kent helps Project Managers understand how to work with greater confidence and gusto. He can functions formally within the best practices framework of the Project Management Institute's PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge) as well as informally, entertaining discussions about what to do when best practices melt away leaving you only with whatever character you have forged for yourself.

He is particularly focused on Communication, realizing that effective leadership involves motivating all stakeholders as valued team members in service of the project's goals.

Roger has worked on projects at Hewlett Packard, Capital One Bank, United Airlines, Visa, Amoco, Pacific Bell. City of San Francisco and Levi Strauss. He stresses the value of clarifying goals and objectives upfront then facilitating a structured planning process, followed by tracking with a light touch. A third-degree Microsoft Project black belt, he excels in graphically portraying accurate resource requirements.

He has conducted over 200 seminars for companies such as Sun Microsystems, Computer Associates, Washington Mutual, Owens Corning, Bell South, Fair Isaac, Deloitte & Touche, and ITT. Abroad he has worked with the Oil Ministry of Kazakhstan and Hyundai.

He holds an MA in Communications from Norwich University and is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
