Susan Christy, Ph.D.


Susan Christy specializes in leadership development, change management and team building, helping business and academic teams improve productivity, embrace change, and resolve difficult people problems. She works with organizations to maximize each individual's talents, align team activities with organizational goals and priorities, and realize measurable results.

Susan particularly likes working with scientists and engineers, who, despite their innate intelligence and training, often have not developed management, coaching or team building skills.

During the last seventeen years, she has worked in high-tech and engineering corporations including, Bechtel, InVision, Pacific Bell, NASA, APL and xxxxxxx. She has trained and consulted for over 100 departments and research teams at the University of California.

Professional highlights:

  • Designed and launched an ongoing Leadership Circle for engineers at eBay.
  • Led an assessment of Human Resource functions at a major University, re-conceptualized and restructured university-wide Development and Training coaching the director and managers.
  • Designed and delivered a five-day leadership program for the 900 managers of a major insurance company as the center-piece of a reengineering program designed to create a more collaborative and accountable corporate culture.
  • As Vice President of Programs for a training firm, led a team of trainers in the design and delivery of communications programs for major corporations.

Susan holds a MA and PhD in Psychology and has been awarded a CMC (Certified Management Consultant) by the Institute of Management Consultants USA.
